Search Engine Optimization

I've been thinking about how to get MathScore more prominent on search engine listings. Today I did some obvious things like making a bunch of keywords bold on my main homepage, focusing on phrases like math facts, math practice, etc.

I'm also seeking a quote from a search engine optimization firm. If I can improve my search engine results, the result will be much more cost-effective than Google ads. Want to help me out? If you have a blog or any type of website, make a link to MathScore.com using some keywords like "math practice", "math facts", etc, rather than just MathScore.com. If you do this, let me know!

Weekend Activities

Well, we didn't do much this past weekend. For starters, Pearlin and I did a lot of weeding. There was a bunch of long grass-like stuff invading our lemon tree's territory and a ton of little weeds growing everywhere. After a lot of hard work, we completely filled our garden waste trash can, which is quite large. I'm sure we'll be able to fill it again next weekend...

We played a bunch of The Sims Bustin' Out as well. We're trying to max out all of the careers. So far, between the two of us, we finished 4 of the 7 careers. How nerdy! Of well, it's fun!

I also fried up some frozen potstickers. Yummy! We used expensive potstickers. I think the brand name is "Fortune [something]", and the size of each potsticker is comparable to the size of potstickers that you would get at a restaurant. It's also the same size that my family makes when we create potstickers from scratch. We also made steamed sea bass, Chinese style, which entails frying up a mixture of oil, soy sauce, and sugar, and pouring it over freshly steamed sea bass.

I also spent a bunch of time updating the MathScore.com website. If you haven't been there in a while, I now use bullet points a little bit more effectively to draw attention to important points.

Haw Flakes are Healthy!

If you know what Haw Flakes are and you like eating them, did you know that they are healthy? Check out this link: http://www.bellybytes.com/bytes/acerola.shtml.

I always suspected they were healthy because I never seemed to catch a cold when I ate them as a kid, and this confirms it!

Living In Style / Special Meal

The TV program thing is official! The program is called Living in Style. See http://www.eastshoreproductions.com for more info. MathScore will be featured in a "Back to School" segment in the late summer. I don't expect to have any short term updates regarding this, but at least we're definitely going to be on!

Recently, I cooked a very special meal for Pearlin. It is called "hot dog fried rice". Actually, I wasn't the original inventor of this splendid dish. When I was a little kid, my brother and I were hungry one day, and we didn't have much food available in the refrigerator. Eddie decided to cut up some hot dogs and fry them with rice. I liked it so much that he made it for me many more times after that day. Pearlin happens to like it a lot as well, so I made it for her. It has been a long time since the last time I made it. Perhaps I'll make it more frequently in the future. In case you are wondering, here is my recipe:

Ingredients:
4 uncooked cups of rice
1/4 pound of hot dogs, chopped into a bunch of medallions (Hebrew National is best)
3 eggs
soy sauce
black pepper
olive oil

Directions:
1. Steam the 4 cups of rice. This takes a lot of time, so start this before you do any other preparation. If you don't have a rice cooker, I suppose you could boil the rice, but I highly recommend using a rice cooker.
2. Using a small amount of oil, fry the hot dogs, then set them aside.
3. Put a lot of oil (~ 3 tablespoons) in a relatively large stir fry pan on high
4. When the oil is sizzling, bring the heat down to low and dump all four cups of rice into your stir fry pan. The low heat is important so you have time to add all of the rice and not burn anything.
5. Bring the heat back up to high and stir the rice around. Really try to make some of the rice look fried. After a couple of minutes of stirring, add a bunch of soy sauce and keep stirring. You'll find that the rice is easier to stir after adding the soy sauce.
6. When the rice is sufficiently fried to your liking, add the hot dogs back in.
7. Add all 3 eggs and stir them around. The eggs will cook easily. I think lots of eggs make fried rice really yummy. I suppose you could get by on only 2 eggs, but I highly recommend 3.
8. Add a bunch of black pepper to taste and stir it around.
9. Eat it!
